Discover the remarkable biodiversity and history of Askham Bog, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's first ever Nature Reserve

Prof Alastair Fitter and Sir John Lawton will bring to life the science behind one of York's most important nature reserves as revealed by peat cores, documentary evidence and ancient groundworks.

Enjoy a guided walk of the site, learning how to identify flora and fauna at one of York's most diverse nature reserves.

To raise funds for the charity, the Trust asks for a suggested donation of £5 per person / £3 for members of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

The event is suitable for people of all ages, with disabled access.

Whilst the majority of the walk will be on Boardwalks, attendees are advised to bring wellies as the guides may ask for volunteers to conduct a brief scientific experiment on the Bog itself.

Warm, waterproof clothing is also recommended
